Many Internet Sales Managers and E-Commerce Directors in the car business know how important it is to be where car buyers are looking. This is why we put our inventory on websites like AutoTrader.com and Cars.com. Especially since there are many resources available to let us do our own research.

After reading about Google’s latest algorithm update, I started poking around to see if any major car related websites took a hit. Although I’m not a big fan of Alexa Rank, I do visit Alexa.com to see other data.

What I found was interesting:

30% Of Internet Users Come From Google Before They Visit AutoTrader, and 29% Go Back To Google After They Visit AutoTrader

Now it’s common knowledge that AutoTrader dominates as far as traffic goes, and they’ve secured the number one Google Organic Serp listing for “used cars” and other highly relevant search terms. For obvious reasons, a car dealer should at least have their inventory on AutoTrader. It’s well worth the money.

So what advertising should come next? Cars.com or local newspaper classified sites? In my opinion you should be advertising on Google. Matter of fact that should be the first choice, because it’s no secret that 80% of car buyers start out on Google.

If you look at the above screenshot, 29.85% of AutoTrader’s visitors go back to Google after they visit AutoTrader.com. If you think about it, that’s a lot of people.

Here’s another interesting screenshot I took while researching Cars.com:

Cars.com Data Was very Similar

For this reason alone, you should be advertising on Google with Google Adwords. I’m sure most dealers have attempted to create and manage their own campaigns, but without a lot of research and conversion data the cost per click will usually be twice the amount as an AdLogic Google Campaign.

Another important factor is support. Have you ever tried to call Google for help? Good luck if you haven’t, it just won’t happen. We are lucky to be a partner with Google, and with that we get 4 Google reps that we can call directly with any issues or questions.

Every 3 months we either visit Googleplex or they come to our Miami Office and share some very valuable data with us. This allows us to continuously improve AdLogic.

We have some huge changes in our algorithm coming on January 1st, 2012. Some the the features include:

Better New Car OEM Campaigns: We’ve been collecting data from millions of searches, and we now know what keyword phrases convert into a lead or phone call better than ever. Now we can adjust the bid on every single keyword depending on the conversion rates.

Scarcity Index: We have exclusive rights to the automotive industries largest scarcity index, and we rolled this into our algorithm as well. Now we can adjust bids depending on the popularity and price of a dealer’s vehicle.

Aged Inventory: We can also give our dealers the flexibility to stop running ads on vehicles that have been on their lot for any X amount of days.

One of our car dealers in Tampa Florida has been using our AdLogic Tool for over a year now. Yesterday, the company that manages this dealers inventory feed had some serious server issues. As of yesterday, only stock photos are showing up on this dealer’s website. Even on the vehicle detail page.

We thought it was a good idea to pause all Google Campaigns until this matter was fixed. This gave us the opportunity to see how hard it really is to drive a possible customer to a dealers vehicle detail page for any vehicle.

Considering the average vehicle detail visit ratio was 33%, it is now at only 8.73%. Another words, less than 1 out of 10 visitors visited a vehicle detail page with AdLogic off.

Without AdLogic Running, VDP Visits Take Dramatic Tumble

I would of thought that people would of went to the Vehicle Detail Page to see if the real photographs were there, but in this case they didn’t. I think this shows how important AdLogic can be for any dealership, considering the dip in leads received. I would of thought more leads would have came in asking “Do you have any photos of that vehicle”?

I’m still surprised at the amount of car dealers who use Google Analytics but don’t set it up to track conversions. Any average Joe can see where their website traffic is coming from, but how do they know what is actually converting into a website lead?

Anyone who attended Patrick’s session at the Digital Dealer Convention in Orlando got the goods for free, and I hope they are seeing a clearer report this month than they were before. I can buy traffic from many different sources, but how do I know which ones are paying off? Dealers are doing a good job tracking phone calls, and some do good at walk-ins. I still wonder why they don’t track their email leads.

Before I go on, it’s important to note that people don’t just find your website and submit a form or call you. These people are finding you from various sources days or weeks before they act. We’ve been tracking sessions of every user, and we are learning a lot about search and car shopping habits.

I’ll use AutoTrader as an example. Obviously you will get leads from their website where you have your inventory listed. But what happens when you purchase banner ads that send traffic to your website? If someone clicks from AutoTrader to your website, your website providor will get the credit for a lead that actually came from AutoTrader.

Another scenario. What happens if someone finds you from an AutoTrader banner 30 days ago, and they browsed your site and left. Only to come back today and Google your company name? You surely can’t give SEO the credit because it’s not a term that you shouldn’t already rank on. For this reason you have to give the credit to AutoTrader. You can read more of that here, but for now I’ll stick to the basics.

Just to give you an example of what you can learn by setting up conversions, this is the kind of data you will get (from a dealer in Tampa Bay):

Top 10 Lead Generators For April 2011

Top 10 Dealer Website Lead Generators

1. Google

Everyone knows that Google reigns as far as traffic goes, and they’re still not good at separating pay per click and organic results. Even if it was all organic, you can’t credit your SEO efforts for this. Why? Look at your top keywords, you will see that it’s the name of your dealership. These are people that found you before, but they can’t remember the url of your website.

Google did supply 42% of the leads, but the conversion rate was only just over 5%. That just tells me that Google still has some work to do cleaning up their serps. Go ahead and look at your lowest keyword phrase report and you will see some visits you never should of got.

2. Direct Visitors

A direct visit is when a user types your website directly into their browser and comes to your website, without using any form of search. This can be a combination of TV, newspaper and other traditional advertising methods. It could also be people who found you on third party websites like AutoTrader and Cars.com and they’re returning because they remembered your domain name. 28% of April’s conversions came from direct visitors, and the total conversion rate was 6.89%.

3. Yahoo Search

Yahoo has always been criticized when it comes to website traffic, yet the quality of the traffic they bring is pretty good. Yahoo sent 8.23% of my email leads this month. Their conversion rate was 11.5 percent.

4. Bing

Bing is becoming more popular, but their still about tied with Yahoo. Bing accounted for 6.64% of my website leads for the month of April, with an overall conversion rate of 28.57%.

5. AutoTrader

We get many leads from AutoTrader, but thanks to setting up conversions in Google Analtyics I found 17 additional leads that even AutoTrader didn’t know about. If you’re buying banner ads, you need to track them. If I dig deeper there was even more than that because AutoTrader has different sources like edmunds.autotrader.com. Their conversion rate was a whopping 18.68%. Another words, of the traffic sent to my website from AutoTrader, 18% submitted a website form.

6. Facebook

I was surprised this even made the list, but numbers don’t lie. Our Facebook Fanpage generated only 13 leads, yet the conversion rate was 25.49%. The app we use sends traffic directly to our dealer website. Other apps force you to use a microsite, which I’m not a big fan of.

The rest of this list is self explanatory, but here is a list of the top 10 sources who had the best conversion rates (total traffic divided by leads generated)

1) Edmunds/AutoTrader: 50%

2) Bing: 28.57%

3) Facebook 25.49%

4) AutoTrader 18.68%

5) Yahoo Autos (cars.com) 16.67%

6) YouTube 16.67%

7) Ask.com 12.96%

 Yahoo 11.5%

9) Superpages 11.43%

10) AOL 9.45%

Remember, these are leads that ONLY came from the website. Third party lead sources aren’t included.

First we would like to thank all that came to the 10th Digital Dealer Conference to see our CTO Patrick Bennett speak about setting up goal conversions for your dealership in Google Analytics.

Those that attended were given our secret url with 5 free goal tracking reports created by Patrick himself. Each script had a clickable link that would automatically add each to your existing Google Analytics account from just 2 clicks.

Screenshot Of The Digital Dealer Page

My 2 Favorite Goal Tracking Reports:

1) Campaign Source Performance

This Report Shows A Nice Snapshot Of Lead Conversion Data

This data shows a weekly report of anything we consider a conversion, including actual email leads and even directions to dealership. This is just the top 10, and there were many others.

This particular dealer purchases banners from AutoTrader, and I’m excited to see the conversions we got from people clicking to our website from AutoTrader. Normally when a user clicks from AutoTrader to your dealer website you would have no idea where the lead really came from. If a user clicks from AutoTrader to your website and submits a lead, your website provider will get credit for the lead. This has always been a problem, but I’m happy to see number 5 and 8. They were both from AutoTrader and totaled an additional 19 conversion that even AutoTrader doesn’t know about. There were even more further down, but there were just too many sources to list.

2) Visitor Acquisition Efficiency Report

Visitor Acquisition Efficiency Report

I sorted this report by conversion rate (Sorry, I had to hide the top 2). I was actually pretty amazed with number 11. A 22% conversion rate from Facebook? This particular dealer doesn’t post links to their website from updates, so all these clicks came from their Facebook inventory app that sends traffic to their main website.

How Do We Know Not Just What, But Who?

As cool as these reports are to track conversions, you have no way of matching any of these to an actual sale or appointment. Especially if you get a lot of leads.

Even with Google’s new Analytics Funnels it won’t tell you who. It’s still a good practice to gather and watch this data, but I want to know the source of every prospect without having to ask him for it.

Here is a screen shot from our CRM of an actual lead that just came in. The source usually would have been my dealer website, but now I have the data to change the source:

We Now Send The Source To Your CRM

Showroom Logic’s new live analytics dashboard can either change the lead source automatically or place it in the notes so you can observe and change yourself. If this lead had come from AutoTrader or Cars.com it would of said so.

At the end of this month I will have the best, most accurate ROI report I’ve ever had. I’m very excited to see it so I can shift some of my advertising dollars around next month. I’m tired of paying vendors that don’t perform.

Our live dashboard is still beta, but here are a few widgets we are using now:

This Widget Shows Latest Conversions Live As They Happen, With Source

An interesting note before you jump into any conclusions. At first glance I first thought “wow, my TV ads are really paying off”. If you look, many of the conversions were direct visitors and people who searched for this company’s name.

Patrick and I have been monitoring the session of every one of these leads, and we found some interesting data. We’re finding that these visitors will first find this site on a Google PPC ad, an AutoTrader Ad or other sources. What they’re doing is looking at a vehicle, then bouncing. About 3 days later they come back by Googling or Yahooing “Park Auto Mall”. We’ve even discovered that these people come back 4 or 5 times before they even convert. The data we are collecting is amazing.

I think it proves that most people aren’t as dumb as we think they are, and they’re probably price shopping.

More Widgets:

This Top 10 Keword Report Updates Every 10 Seconds, And Resets At Midnight

Referring Websites Live

For the past year, Patrick Bennett and myself have been working on an analytics tool to properly reflect the return on investment (ROI) for car dealers.

A typical monthly ROI report will list all vendors, but the problem is the top performer is always a car dealer’s website provider. Although it is up to your website to convert visitors, you cannot give them credit for a lead (or sale).

For example: What happens if you buy banner ads with AutoTrader? Many people will click the banner on AutoTrader.com and they will end up on your website. If they submit a lead your website will be listed as the source, so unless somebody asks them you will never know.

Our new analytics tool will modify the lead source instantly, and the correct source will be entered into your CRM.

This will be done for any vendor you have, plus any other source.

If a user visits your website from a Google Pay Per Click, the source will be “Google PPC”. If it was an SEO click, the source will be listed as “Google SEO”.

The same goes for Yahoo and Bing, and even Google Maps.

Our algorithm will also measure your brand awareness. If you get a visitor that knows about you from other sources we’ll be able to track that as well.

I am most excited about the data. You will have the most accurate ROI report you could have ever imagined, and you will be able to spread out your budget in all the right places.

No more asking yourself if you should be paying thousands of dollars a month for SEO. Your ROI report will answer all these questions.

Included in our dashboard is our live analytics software. Now you can see what is happening right now as each person navigates your website.

Important Update:

Believe it or not, branding is winning! We are compiling a lot of data. Check back next week as I report more detailed statistics.

Several of us will be at the Digital Dealer Conference next week in Orlando, and Patrick Bennett is listed as a speaker talking about Analytics for Car Dealers.

If you are going to Digital Dealer be sure to check out the Homenet Booth. They will be launching our exclusive AdLogic Tool.

Good news from the Googleplex. If you are a Google Analytics user you can now compare important statistics of your website traffic to similar websites in your industry. This is ground breaking because we never had this data available to us. Many people relied on unreliable data sites like Alexa.

My niche is the car industry, and I’ve always wanted to know how my site compares to other. Follow these easy instructions on how to analyze your data:

1) Login To Your Google Analytics Account:

Click “visitors”, then “benchmarking”. Now click “open Category list” to the right below the word “benchmarking”. Select your industry – I am selecting “autos and vehicles”.

Now all the data below changes to your selection, and I was excited to see my results.

Here is a brief explanation of each metric:

1) Visits

Amount of Visitors Last 30 Days

This report included the last 30 days of traffic. I received 9,621 visits, and according to Google the auto industry averages only 4,327 visitors a month. This is obviously great news for me getting more than twice the traffic of others.

2) Pageviews

Pageviews Per Vistor (Average)

According to Google, the car industry averages 17,538 page views per month on their website. I obtained 55,749 pageviews, over 200% more than my industry average. Some conversion experts may say my website is noisy, but I cater to the Attention Deficit Disorder Community and it seems to work. (They have great beacon scores).

3) Average Page Per Visit

Average Page View per Visit

The industry average is 4.05 pageviews per visitor. My site gets 5.79 pages a visitor, which is 42.96% more. Don’t sweat it if you’re in a different industry because car dealers will have a better pageview count because people are looking at cars, and they usually have 50 or more listed on their site.

4) Bounce Rate

Bounce Rate Is Often Misunderstood

According to Google, the car industry has an average bounce rate of 40.91%. My bounce rate is 29.70% over the past 30 days. This is Google’s definition of a bounce rate:

Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page. Use this metric to measure visit quality – a high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages aren’t relevant to your visitors. The more compelling your landing pages, the more visitors will stay on your site and convert. You can minimize bounce rates by tailoring landing pages to each keyword and ad that you run. Landing pages should provide the information and services that were promised in the ad copy.

I have to disagree with this statement, and I will use my website as an example. I use a dominant Google Pay Per Click program. If anybody in the Tampa Florida area searches Google for any vehicle I have in inventory, my add will show up. For an example, if someone searches “2008 Chrysler Sebring” (and variations of others) my ad will show. When clicked, the visitor will be brought to the vehicle detail page. I gave them what they were looking for, so why would they look any further?

While I’m on the topic, I’ve heard many people insist that Google uses it’s analytics to decide who shows up on searches. It is not true, and here is my proof:

5) Average Time On Site

Average Time On Site

The industry average is only 2 minutes and 46 seconds (that’s awful). My users stayed on my website for an average just under 5 minutes. I make sure to have plenty of pictures, videos and other information to keep them on as long as possible. I’ll take the 79% more than average! If you don’t think 5 minutes is a long time, try holding your breath for that long.

6) New Visitors

New Visitors

The auto industry average is 66.17%, and I rated at 66.11%, which is a tad lower than the industry average. I like to think positive about this metric, and it’s nice to see people returning to my website. So, 44% of my 9,600 visitors returned to my website in the past 30 days? That’s great news because these are car shoppers!

I would love to see some educated responses below, and maybe see how you rated in your industry.

I have always been a stats guy, and I take the management of Park Auto Mall’s virtual showroom very seriously. Our real showroom is a beautiful

Each Colored Folder Represents A Page View. This happens Live

place, and it takes many vendors to keep it that way. We have a decorating company come out once a month and put balloons and other eye candy around, we have a woman who comes by often to water the flowers. We have a nightly cleaning crew, we have a car detailing department and another company that comes out and power washes our vehicles every so often.

All this time and money spent, yet our virtual showroom was once neglected. It’s unacceptable to launch a website and just throw an inventory feed on there. It’s unacceptable to have an outdated staff page or a bunch of empty pages on your website.

I watch my virtual showroom like a hawk. I watch my visitors behavior patterns live as they browse my website. I watch as customers come from our blog, YouTube and Facebook. I watch as my traffic comes from search engines, and I pay close attention to what keywords convert.

The sales managers up at the tower will have Reynolds & Reynolds desk log loaded, and they will be able to see all appointments for the day and what’s going on with the current deals in progress. It’s their job to do this, but it’s my job to get the leads and appointments.

My virtual showroom version of their desktop manager is Piwik Live Stats. It’s a free, open source traffic analytics program that I installed on our own server. I have a decent hosting account for our self hosted WordPress Blog, so I installed it on that server.

Now I always use Google Analytics to run reports on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. However, Google does not offer live stats. For this reason, I use Piwik to monitor my website as it happens.

Although it does many things, my favorite is the live stats. If you look at the screenshot to your right you will see what I mean. Each colored folder represents a pageview by the potential customer. I can even hover over each to get the url of the page they viewed.

The best way I utilize this program is by monitoring the phones. We have 6 full time employees in our BDC, and when the phone rings I listen. Most of our calls come from our website, so just by listening I can pinpoint the actual visitor to the phone call. If they are calling about a particular vehicle I can easily find out which one is them.

Now I can properly update my lead to view the actual source. Sure, it came from our website…but where were they before? Did they come from a Google Search? Was it a tower ad on Auto Trader? Was it a PPC click? Direct visitor maybe?

The next image shows my keywords. This snapshot was for a Sunday morning. Not a bad start, and as you can see we get some nice organic traffic. We already had traffic from 54 different keyword phrases.

Piwik Allows Me To Keep An Eye On My Keywords

I also like the instant data for my conversions, bounce rate etc…

These Sunday morning stats are great so far, and I love seeing this.

Most of our traffic comes from organic searches, and to see a bounce rate of only 20.74% for today (so far) makes me content.

I’m also impressed with the 13.1 pageviews per visitor, so for today I don’t have much to be concerned about.

My conversion rate is great so far as well, and I love the way I can look at all of this data live.

As I said before, I will always run reports on Google Analytics for my main research, but Piwik is great for the live action on my website. I particularly like it when I send out an email blast.

Last week I sent out an email to over 10,000 people. About 20 minutes later, the phone rang and a woman asked for me. Her niece was looking for a car, and she was heading down to a Hyundai dealership that day. This woman was a previous lead of ours, who didn’t even buy a car from us. However, she liked the way she was treated here. She told me her source, but if she hadn’t I would of figured it out quickly by looking at the live stats.

Instant Live Conversion Performance Data

If you want to get valuable data for your internet department, check out this free open source software. I highly recommend It.

Free Live Stats

When Bill Heard Chevrolet in Plant City Florida abruptly closed at the end of last year, it was quickly re-opened under new ownership. It’s now called Stingray Chevrolet.

Being “related” to the largest volume Chevrolet Dealer in The United States (Classic Chevrolet in Texas), it’s obvious they know what they’re doing.

I am without a doubt pro-internet, and I believe there is a huge future in it for everybody. However, I cannot help to notice that a large dealership like that with a non-existent internet presence can still sell cars.

Other than Autotrader, you will not find this dealer anywhere on the internet. I happen to live nearby, and I have been researching area car dealers for years. This past Christmas when Stingray Chevrolet opened it’s doors, I expected to see them everywhere.

I am guessing they probably only have a few internet sales managers, without a director. If they had an experienced director, their inventory would have been saturated. If they do have one, I wonder what they do all day?

Anyway, what they did was a form a brilliant relationship with Bubba The Love Sponge. It all started back in May when Stingray Chevrolet was unveiling the new Camaro.

They hired a DJ named MJ to make an appearance. Apparently MJ and Bubba the Love Sponge have some problems. Extra security had to be called in because some of Bubba’s fans were expected to show and cause problems. Respectfully, Bubba told them all to be good. But we all know anything could happen.

Anyway, this is how the relationship with Bubba started. I think Stingray Chevrolet realized how much of a following Bubba has, so it wasn’t long before Stingray Chevrolet was advertising on Bubba’s show.

The relationship grew so strong that Bubba started personally endorsing Stingray Chevrolet on the air. Soon Bubba got himself a demo from the dealership, and since then even Bubba’s good friend Hulk Hogan received one.

Currently their three strongest assets is their relationship with Bubba The Love Sponge, their location (visible from highly traveled I-4) and their inventory. If you’re looking for any Chevy Product, the odds are good that they will have any style and color you want.

Many people don’t realize it, but they do have a used car department. It’s a separate building on their lot, with about 80 used vehicles.

Basically, what I’m saying is simple. There is no single answer to selling cars, but the right relationships with the right people can make a world of difference.

I did see one thing I’m not sure I agree with, they are advertising on a website that sells marijuana growing supplies. I’ m not sure why a dealer would want to have a relationship with a company like that.

If you look at this screen shot, you will see that somebody embedded this YouTube Video from Stingray Chevrolet’s Youtube account, using tags related to Marijuana (outlined in red).

Marijuana & Used Cars Don't Mix

It is important to note that Stingray probably doesn’t even know about this. Anybody can embed a YouTube Video on their blog, but I’m not sure why anyone would in this case.

If it was up to me I would contact that blog owner and have them take it down asap.

When I worked at a car dealership as an internet director, many vendors including Autotrader used to brag about their Alexa Rank. The lower your Alexa Rank is, the better the website is.

This could become a long post if I went into details, so I won’t. Instead I will perform a simple search on Google and prove to you how untrue it is.

If you look at the screen shot below, I have the SEO Quake toolbar installed so I don’t have to click each website to find it’s Alexa Rank. Each will be highlighted in red:

Alexa Rank Is Meaningless (See Below)

The search I performed was “used cars lakeland”. If Alexa was accurate, the results would have been in a different order (Remember, the lower the Alexa Rank number is the “better” the website is suppose to be).

Number one on the Google results was a Showroom Logic website. It’s Alexa Rank is 1,443,038

Number 2 & 3 was Automotive.com, with an Alexa Rank of 4,502. Now how come these 2 pages didn’t show up first? They have suck a great Alexa Rank.

Number 4 is Lakeland Toyota. They have an Alexa Rank of 3,250,526.

Number 5 is Lotpro, which has an Alexa Rank of 80,654.

I don’t even think I have to go much further. If Alexa rank meant anything the search results would have been presented differently. Matter of fact, if you move on to page 3 and 4 you will see Alexa ranks better than any of these results.

Alexa Rank can be easily manipulated if you want to try a little experiment. Simply install the Alexa Tool Bar on your browser and watch it decrease on a weekly basis.

So, the next time a vendor tries to sell you with Alexa Rank and them to prove how beneficial it is.

Last night I did an experiment on the Orlando Craigslist. I posted 6 cars within a span of 15 minutes using our Craigslist Posting Tool. Many car dealers don’t realize the instant traffic obtained from a Craigslist post.

We use live stats on all of our websites, and we can log in at any moment and see what’s going on. I had this software running in the background as I was making each post.

Reasons why you should:

1) Craigslist Is A Huge Source Of Traffic. These potential customers are on Craigslist because they are looking to buy a car.

2) Obtain Quality Traffic To Your Website From Each Vehicle: The idea is you want to get the user to visit your website, and get them off of Craigslist. You want them to see the rest of your inventory, so you need a call to action. We show all photos in our posts, and all but one are thumbnails. When the user clicks anything, they are brought to your actual page. As they scroll down they will see similar inventory, and we want them to keep clicking.

3) 90 Days Of Free Advertising with Keyword Search: Many dealers are unimpressed that their Craigslist post stays up for 90 days. They must realize that Craigslist has a keyword search. If a user searches for “Mustang” it will show all Mustangs posted within the last 90 days. The 6 posts alone I did will send several hundred visitors to that website in a 90 day period. If I did 6 posts a day, I would get thousands of visitors.

4) Leads You Wouldn’t Normally Get: Overnight we received 3 email leads so far, and a few phone calls already came in on a Sunday morning. Not bad for 15 minutes of work!

5) Craigslist Ads Show Up Frequently On Google Searches: For that 90 days period, each of your ads will show up on Google searches. Although Craigslist in no way dominates the Google Searches, it’s still a great source.

So now let’s look at the quality of the traffic. Besides our live stats, we use Google Analytics. People familiar with GA know it is a few hours behind in reporting, which is why I waited until this afternoon to check yesterday’s stats.

47 Visits In About 4 Hours Last Night

Visits: From about 8:00PM to midnight, 47 people clicked a link on the ad that brought them to our website. Keep in mind, these are just the people that clicked from the ad. I’m sure hundreds of people saw each ad.

Pages Per Visit: Out of the 47 visitors, the average person clicked 2.02 cars. With a bounce rate of 75%, that means that 12 people looked at more than one vehicle.

Average Time On Site: 54 seconds doesn’t sound like much, but that’s a lot of time. Go to one of your vehicle listings and count to 54 while you look at the vehicle details.

New Visits: 93.62% percent of the visitors have never been on this website before. This means that about 6.4% of the people from last night came back and took another look. Another words, 3 people clicked from Craigslist last night more than once.

Bounce Rate: A bounce rate of 75 percent is expected because we link to each vehicle. They were presented with what the came for and hit their back button and moved on. But, 1 in 4 people chose to look at more vehicles which is what we want.

UPDATE:

Updated Craigslist Stats

After a full 24 hours I checked the stats for all Craigslist visitors. 168 people actually clicked through to the website, looking at an average of 2 cars or trucks each.

I looked deeper and 6 users actually spent over 10 minutes on the site looking at an average of 30 cars. This is what internet advertising is all about, and it’s up to you to get your inventory out there.

You want your inventory on Craigslist? Showroom Logic can do that for you. Call Mike at 863-666-0130 or send me an email: mike@showroomlogic.com
