I did another test the other night. I put four different new and used cars on the Orlando and the Tampa Florida Craigslist. The results were

Get Traffic From Craigslist To Flow To Your Website
impressive, as I will explain below.
Before I explain the stats, I want you to understand how powerful Craigslist can be:
- Think of Craigslist as a search engine: Orlando and Tampa Florida have a huge search volume for new and used cars. Many dealers think that after a couple of minutes their car post will be diluted with the hundreds of other ads from other car dealers. This is not true. Craigslist has a keyword search, and your ad will stay their for 90 days. If you put a Honda Accord on there it will come up whenever someone searches for it on Craigslist for 90 days.
- Craigslist Postings Show Up on Google Searches: Last week I did a test. I posted a 2010 Chevy Camaro on the Tampa Florida Craigslist. I then did a blog post with links pointing to the actual listing on tampa.used-cars-fl.com. After a few hours, I googled “2010 Chevy Camaro Tampa” and my car showed up in 4 different spots on page on of Google. Position one & two was my blog post. Position 5 was the actual ad on Craigslist, and position 7 was the actual listing page. This is called internet saturation, and I received 6 leads on the same days. 4 were phone calls, and two were emailed. As a result, 2 brand new Camaros were sold because of this.
- Get The Traffic From Craigslist To Flow To Your Website: If you do it properly, you can bring the traffic from Craigslist to your website. Check out this 2004 Honda Civic post I did. The idea is simple, show them a bunch of smaller photos. If they have an interest in the vehicle they will click them, which will bring them to your website. As the user scrolls down, similar Honda Civics will appear (if there are any).
Now lets look at the numbers for each area:
- Orlando Craigslist: 97 people actually clicked from the listings in a 24 hour period. Between all of them, they averaged 1 minute and 20 seconds looking at the website we brought them to. That may not sound like a long time, but sit there and count to 80 and you’ll see how long it really is. The average pageviews were 2.66. Another words each of those 97 people looked at 2.6 cars.
- Tampa Craigslist: 30 people clicked from the ads to the website, with an average 0f 1.6 pageviews. Remember, this is only the amount that clicked through. There were thousands of people who actually saw the ad.
Now lets go back to the 2010 Chevy Camaro post I did. We all know that most people simply show up on your lot, without calling or emailing. Our study indicated that 51% of the people just show up. Autotrader feels that number is higher than 80%. For argument sake, let’s say the number is 50%.
From that Camaro post, I received 6 leads (4 by phone, and 2 by email). So if we do the math, 6 more people showed up and became an UP. Between the blog post and the Craigslist post, it took me about 20 minutes.
If you want to sell more cars, this is what you must be doing. You have to help these customers find you. Our software allows you to make about 4 Craigslist posts in 5 minutes.
